Birkett Wood is an exciting new catering experience opening at Brockhole National Park.
We are looking for an experienced catering manager with multi-unit experience to join this exciting new project. The catering will take place in 3 phases and will include a grab & go kiosk, a sit-down café & a restaurant within the main building.
The candidate will have strong leadership & communication skill along with a passion for delivering excellent customer service. The role also requires a good understanding of food safety and preparation is also required.
This is a unique role for a catering or hospitality professional looking for a position that allows for stable working hours without the late nights.
About the Role
The successful candidate will manage all the catering operations in the park; bringing creativity, strong leadership and commercial experience to Birkett Wood Ltd. You will be responsible for delivering a delicious food offering, driving the business forward and creating the ultimate guest experience for our visitors.
This hands on, proactive role requires a proven track record in high volume catering over multiple units, and an experience of budgeting. Strong people management skills, with the ability to support and develop the team are key. The catering manager will head up the catering team of seasonal staff and supervisors taking overall responsibility for the various successes of the department.
Person Specification
Essential
Proven experience in a high-volume catering environment
Experience leading, managing and developing large and diverse teams
Experience of managing budgets and meeting financial targets
Knowledge of delivering excellent customer service
Familiarity with stock control and management
A proven ability to deliver high quality work in a pressured environment
Food Hygiene qualifications
Excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable
A detailed knowledge of catering trends and sourcing new product ranges
Experience of menu planning and development
First Aid qualifications
Health & Safety at Work qualifications
Previous work within the leisure/attractions industry.
Salary – £35,000 per year
