Rain, rain, go away!
The Great British weather really isn’t being kind to us this summer, is it? With ‘10-day weather forecast’ being our top search on Google and our shorts and t-shirts being pushed to the back of our wardrobes, it’s set to be a wet one… but that doesn’t mean the fun and adventure has to stop too. Rainy days out are just as good, especially a rainy day out at BeWILDerwood.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen WILD explorers having the very best time in the woods, no matter what the weather. So here are our top tips to ensure you have the best summer day out at BeWILDerwood, even if it’s a little wetter than normal.
Come prepared for the weather – so you can SPLASH in the puddles!
We’re positive that once your little explorer sees our slippery slides and towering treehouses, they really won’t care whether it’s glorious sunshine or showers. But we do recommend being a clever Twiggle and dressing the whole family for the weather. Rain suits, wellies and waterproofs are an absolute must… and perhaps a change of clothes too.
Make use of the free activities – which are undercover, hooray!
Our storytelling shows, face painting and crafts are all located under cover or in huge tents. So be sure to schedule all of these things into your adventure, in between zip wiring, den building and getting lost in muddled mazes.
Explore new areas – again, these are under cover!
Why not explore different areas of the woods… our sandpits in both Toddlewood on the Hill and Tiptoe valley (areas for teeny explorers) all have wooden roofs. Perfect for keeping your little ones dry even in the rain. There’s also giant Twiggle houses which are sure to spark up imagination whilst providing some shelter too. Find these at Toddlewood on the Hill and BeWILDerville.
Take part in our Rainy-Day Challenge
Splishy splashy puddles, making muddy footprints and embracing the great outdoors are just some of the things in our new Rainy-Day Challenge. We recommend downloading this ahead of your visit as signal in the woods is a little wishy washy.
